Cempa Community Care to expand COVID-19 testing in Rhea County
Cempa Community Care is expanding free COVID-19 testing in Rhea County on Wednesday. It comes two weeks after 175 workers at Henderson Farms tested positive for the virus.
Shannon Stephenson, CEO of Cempa Community Care, said they decided to start mobilizing their efforts to people in Rhea County following the outbreak in May. She said it’s imperative to expand testing to stop the spread of the virus. “When you have increased testing opportunities, you’re going to have an increase in positive numbers but what that does is it really enables our community to recognize where the outbreaks are so we can quarantine individuals and help them get better and well so that we’re not spreading the virus,” said Stephenson.
