Last week, Cempa Community Care’s Director of Clinic Services, Amy Eldridge, BBA-HCM, was appointed to the Regional Health Council by the Hamilton County Commission thanks to a unanimous vote upon the recommendation of District 8 Commissioner, Mike Chauncey.
The Regional Health Council acts as a community-based advisory board to the Hamilton County Health Department, making recommendations impacting the health of Hamilton County residents. There are 27 voting members on the council, each member serving a 4-year term.
“I’m very thankful for this opportunity to serve alongside others who care deeply about the health of Hamilton County,” said Eldridge. “I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned at Cempa to the Regional Health Council and help strengthen the work already happening across our community. My goal is to support meaningful progress that makes care more accessible and improves the overall well-being of the people who live here.”
Eldridge has served in her current role at Cempa for the past five years. Her hands-on leadership experience will enable her to advocate for policies that will promote positive health outcomes to Cempa’s neighbors across Hamilton County.
“Amy is a force for good, and her work at Cempa over the past half-decade has benefitted the entire organization, especially the patients who depend on us,” said Dr. Shannon Burger, CEO of Cempa Community Care. “I am excited that she’ll be able to apply her insights and expertise to benefit the health standings of residents all across Hamilton County. I have no doubt her appointment to the council will strengthen the impact of the Hamilton County Health Department over the course of her term.”
The Regional Health Council convenes quarterly, and is comprised of 11 Commission appointees — one made by each commissioner — and 16 at-large appointees made by the Hamilton County Mayor.
