Cempa Community Care sees increase in COVID-19 testing after Alstom Plant closure
In March, Hamilton County leaders shut down the mass COVID-19 testing site at the Alstom Plant to shift efforts toward vaccinations.
At the time, the site was conducting hundreds of COVID-19 tests a day.
It had an impact on health organizations like Cempa Community Care.
Outreach Manager LaDarius Price said they saw an increase in demand.
“We have seen an influx of testing due to the health department shifting to complete vaccine distribution,” Price said.
According to data provided by Cempa, the weekly COVID-19 tests nearly tripled after the Alstom Plant closed in March.
However, Price said they have had no problem keeping up with the demand.
“We have not had any challenges as it relates to meeting the needs to the community since the pandemic began,” Price said.
